Making Space for the Dream

Texts:  Isaiah 11:1-10 and Matthew 3:1-12

Center Yourself

 Breath Prayer

Breathe in: “Holy Spirit, make space within me…”

Breathe out: “…for your Dream to take root.”

Repeat slowly for a few breaths, letting your mind and heart settle.

Reflection

  • Where do I see “stumps” in my own life—places I feel cut off, exhausted, or tempted to give up?

  • Can I notice a “green shoot”—a sign of new hope, even if small or fragile—emerging somewhere unexpected?

  • What old fears, habits, or certainties am I being nudged to release, even if it feels uncomfortable or risky?

  • What does it mean for me, today, not to “fix” everything, but simply to make space for God’s Dream to grow, even in the mess and unpredictability?

Practice: Make Space

Choose one to try this week:

  • Pause for a few moments in the midst of busyness. Name one place you need to let go of control and simply be present.

  • Do one small act of kindness or encouragement where you notice discouragement or fatigue in others.

  • Write down something you’re afraid is “finished” or hopeless. Offer it in prayer, asking for openness to new possibilities.

Closing Prayer

God of new beginnings,

Give me courage to let go of what no longer serves,

Eyes to notice new shoots of hope,

And a willing spirit to make space for your Dream.

May I trust that, even in chaos or uncertainty,

Your presence is at work—bringing life,

Right here, right now.

Amen.
