A Meditation for All Saints
Showing Up for the Work of Love
Settle
Sit with feet grounded and hands open.
Breathe naturally.
Let your body soften and your heart become attentive.
Remember
You don’t have to be perfect to be a saint.
You just have to keep showing up.
“Blessed are you who are poor.
Blessed are you who are hungry.
Blessed are you who weep…
Blessed are you when people hate you…” ~ Luke 6:20–22
These are not future promises or spiritual rewards.
They are blessings for right now.
Declarations that the Dream of God is alive — in you and around you — even in struggle.
To be a saint is not to be flawless.
It is to be faithful.
To keep choosing mercy over resentment, hope over despair, presence over avoidance, compassion over hate.
To keep loving, even when it’s hard.
Even when the world stings.
Reflect
Where might I be called today to show up with love — not because it’s easy, but because it’s who I am?
Pray
Holy One,
You do not wait for us to be perfect —
You meet us in our hunger, our grief, our longing.
Give me courage to live from the truth of your blessing.
When I am tempted to retreat or harden my heart,
call me back to presence.
Shape me into one who keeps showing up for the work of love.
Amen.
