Meditation: Becoming Real, Becoming Radiant
Texts: Isaiah 61:10 – 62:3 and John 1:1-18
Begin by settling.
Take a slow, deep breath.
Notice the space around you.
Let the noise of the world gently fade as you come into this moment.
Notice the darkness—within and around you.
Acknowledge the news, the burdens, the places where hope feels fragile or far away.
Don’t rush past them. Let them be what they are.
And then, remember: the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it.
Imagine God’s presence, as light, entering your life—not with fanfare, but in the ordinary:
In the rhythm of your days
In moments of kindness, struggle, and quiet
In your honest questions and your persistent hope
Reflect:
Where do you long for more light?
What small act of kindness, hope, or courage could you offer today?
Where have you seen light—yours or another’s—make a difference, even in a small way?
Receive this invitation:
You have been given the capacity to be a child of God—a bearer of light.
You don’t need to be perfect or certain; you simply need to be willing.
Let love and hope take root in you, and shine, right where you are.
Close with prayer:
Light of the world,
Shine in my heart,
In my relationships, in my choices, in my struggles and hopes.
Help me to notice your presence,
And to become a lamp for others,
So that together, your light will keep shining,
Now and always.
Amen.
